1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing purashuttle.com or making a booking through our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our services.
These Terms form a binding agreement between you and Pura Shuttle LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company ("Pura Shuttle," "we," "our," or "us").
2. Our Services
Pura Shuttle is an online booking platform that connects travelers in Costa Rica with professional private ground transportation providers. We operate as a marketplace — we are not a transportation company and do not employ drivers or own vehicles. We facilitate bookings, process payments, and manage communications between customers and transport providers.
What We Do
- Accept and process private shuttle bookings online
- Collect payment on behalf of the booking
- Assign your trip to a vetted local transport provider
- Send automated booking confirmations and trip reminders
- Monitor your flight and coordinate pickup adjustments for delays
- Relay communications between you and your driver
- Issue refunds in accordance with our cancellation policy
What We Are Not
We are not a licensed taxi company, rideshare service, or bus operator. All transportation is provided by independent Costa Rican transport companies who have agreed to our provider standards. Pura Shuttle does not guarantee the acts or omissions of transport providers, though we take quality seriously and vet every provider before listing them on the platform.
3. Eligibility
To make a booking, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have the legal authority to enter into a contract
- Provide accurate and complete information at booking
- Have a valid payment method
4. Booking and Payment
How Bookings Work
- Enter your route, travel date, and number of passengers
- Review your instant price quote
- Complete the booking form with your name, email, phone, flight number, and pickup details
- Pay in full via Stripe at the time of booking
- Receive an immediate booking confirmation with a unique reference number (PS-XXXXXX format)
Your booking is not confirmed until payment is successfully processed and you receive a confirmation email.
Pricing
All prices are in US Dollars (USD) and are charged per vehicle, not per person. Costa Rica's 13% IVA (value-added tax) is added to all bookings and displayed as a separate line item before checkout. The IVA amount is shown in your confirmation receipt.
Prices displayed on route cards are listed as "from [price] + 13% IVA." The exact total is shown in the quote step before you enter payment information.
Payment Processing
All payments are processed by Stripe. Pura Shuttle does not store your credit card number, CVV, or full payment details. By completing a purchase, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service. We accept major credit and debit cards.
Booking Changes
Changes to an existing booking (e.g., change of pickup time or date) made within 24 hours of your scheduled trip are subject to a $50 USD change fee (+ 13% IVA). Changes due to a documented flight delay are processed at no charge.
To request a change, contact us at support@purashuttle.com or message our WhatsApp concierge number with your booking reference.
5. Cancellation and Refund Policy

Refunds are processed automatically to the original payment method via Stripe. Processing time depends on your bank or card issuer (typically 5–10 business days).
To cancel a booking, use the self-service cancellation link in your confirmation email, or contact us at support@purashuttle.com with your booking reference.
6. Flight Delays
If you provided a flight number at booking, we monitor your flight. If a delay is detected, we automatically notify you and adjust your driver's pickup timing accordingly. We do not charge extra for flight delay accommodations. This is a standard feature of every booking.
If your flight is significantly delayed or cancelled and you need to reschedule your transfer to a different day, standard change or cancellation policies apply.
7. SMS Text Message Terms
Program Description
By providing your mobile phone number and completing a booking, you consent to receive automated SMS text messages from Pura Shuttle as part of the Pura Shuttle Booking Alerts program. These messages include:
- Booking confirmation and reference number
- Trip reminders sent at approximately 72 hours, 24 hours, and 2 hours before your scheduled pickup
- Driver assignment notification (approximately 24 hours before your trip), including driver name and vehicle plate
- Flight delay alerts, if applicable
Message Frequency
Message frequency is typically 3 to 5 messages per booking. Frequency may vary based on your trip timing, driver assignment timing, and any flight status changes.
Costs
Message and data rates may apply. Standard messaging rates from your mobile carrier apply to SMS messages you receive from us. Pura Shuttle does not charge separately for SMS messages.
How to Opt Out
Reply STOP to any SMS message from Pura Shuttle at any time to cancel. After texting STOP, you will receive one final confirmation message and no further SMS messages from us. Opting out of SMS does not cancel your booking.

Carriers
Pura Shuttle's SMS program is available on most US and international mobile networks. We are not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages due to carrier issues or factors outside our control.
Privacy
Your mobile phone number and SMS opt-in are used solely to send booking-related alerts. We do not share your phone number with third parties for their own marketing purposes. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
8. WhatsApp Communications
By completing a booking, you consent to receive WhatsApp messages from the Pura Shuttle concierge number. These include booking confirmations, driver details, and trip updates. All communication between you and your driver is routed through this number — you will not receive your driver's personal phone number, and your personal phone number is not shared directly with the driver.
You may opt out of WhatsApp communications by replying STOP or contacting support@purashuttle.com. Note that opting out may limit our ability to provide real-time support during your trip.
9. Your Responsibilities
As a customer, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information at booking (name, phone, flight number, number of passengers, pickup location)
- Be at your pickup location at the scheduled time
- Contact us promptly at the concierge WhatsApp number if your plans change
- Treat drivers with respect and courtesy
- Not use the platform for any unlawful purpose
Passenger Count Accuracy
Your vehicle assignment is based on the number of passengers entered at booking. If your actual group size is larger than booked and the vehicle cannot safely accommodate the additional passengers, the driver may decline to transport the excess passengers. No refund is issued in this case.
Luggage
Standard bookings include reasonable luggage for the declared number of passengers. Excessive luggage loads that exceed vehicle capacity are the responsibility of the customer to disclose in advance. Contact us at support@purashuttle.com if you have unusual luggage needs.
10. Transport Provider Responsibilities
The local transport provider assigned to your booking is responsible for:
- Providing a clean, roadworthy vehicle of the type assigned
- Assigning a licensed, professional driver
- Meeting you at the pickup location at the scheduled time with a name sign
- Notifying Pura Shuttle of any issues that may affect your trip
Pura Shuttle coordinates provider assignments and monitors acknowledgement of every booking. If a provider fails to acknowledge a booking, we escalate immediately and arrange an alternative.
11. Limitation of Liability
Pura Shuttle is a booking platform and marketplace. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:
- We are not liable for acts, omissions, delays, accidents, or incidents caused by independent transport providers
- We are not liable for events beyond our control, including flight cancellations, natural disasters, road closures, or government actions
- Our total liability to you for any claim arising from a booking shall not exceed the total amount you paid for that booking
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for gross negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
Our platform and services are provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranty, express or implied, regarding the reliability, accuracy, or availability of the platform, the services of transport providers, or any third-party APIs (including flight tracking data).
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pura Shuttle LLC, its members, officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of our services, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any applicable law.
14. Intellectual Property
All content on purashuttle.com — including text, images, logos, route data, and software — is owned by or licensed to Pura Shuttle LLC and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without prior written permission.
15. Privacy
Your use of Pura Shuttle is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand our practices regarding your personal information.
16. Third-Party Services
Our platform integrates with third-party services including Stripe (payments), Twilio (messaging), Google Maps (location), and flight tracking APIs. Your use of these integrations is subject to the respective terms and policies of those providers. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of third-party service providers.
17. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles. For users located in Costa Rica, mandatory consumer protection rights under Costa Rican law are not affected.
Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of our services that cannot be resolved through good-faith negotiation will be submitted to binding arbitration in Wyoming in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. You and Pura Shuttle each waive any right to a jury trial.
Notwithstanding the above, either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to prevent irreparable harm.
18. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will provide notice by email to active customers or by a prominent notice on our website. Your continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
